This week’s music obsession is a remix of the be-bop cover of Beyoncé’s “Crazy In Love” done by Brit trio The Puppini Sisters. The remix, called the Real Tuesday Weld Remix, is a clever mash up of the sisters’ original song with “Puttin’ on the Ritz” that simply demands you head bob along to the beat. Take a listen here.
My music obsession this week is a track I heard on last week’s Gossip Girl. It’s “Wolf & I” by Oh Land. This electronica type track reminds me of the good old days of Portishead, Bjork and Goldfrapp before they got…well, weird. In any case, take a listen.
I’ve had this song, “Shelter” by Birdy, on repeat for four days straight so I decided it was time to write up an obsession post. The original, The XX’s “Shelter” was on at least one of my book soundtracks (although I think it may be a book that I haven’t released). But this version, this version is even better! I do so love me some melancholy tunes and this gal, Birdy, does great melancholy. (Don’t believe me, check out her cover of Bon Iver’s “Skinny Love“!)
So pop in a pair of earbuds, kick back in a dark room with a box of tissues and prepare to sniffle a little.
Don’t want to sniffle? Try this song instead.
