Today I’m handing the blog over to Elizabeth SaFleur as part of her Lovely blog tour. She’s going to talk about The 6 Best Places in D.C. to Get Caught Making Out (or Tied Up). I can’t wait!

Elizabeth? Have at it!

The 6 Best Places in D.C. to Get Caught Making Out (or Tied Up)

Our nation’s capital isn’t only business suits, The Smithsonian, and government wonks. The lusty life is alive and well. From secret gardens to private clubs, Washington, D.C. offers many nooks and crannies to get “busy” and make good use of those power ties. Below are some suggested places to get “tied up” or at least make out.

  1. For the exhibitionist, get tickets to the box tier of the Opera House at The Kennedy Center.

Pricey, but the best seats in this “modern” yet historic venue. Who would notice you’re suddenly tied to your chair by your date’s formal black tie? During intermission or after a show, head on up to the Roof Deck to catch the sunset over the Potomac. Fair warning for those hair-dos. It’s windy, so snuggle close.

  2. Tour-SaFleur-Plume birds nest
    Plume’s Bird Nest table
For the gourmand, book the “bird’s nest” table at Plume restaurant.

The Jefferson Hotel’s Plume restaurant is for special occasions or anytime you want to impress a date. Book your reservation for the Bird’s Nest table for that “extra” privacy and its very own special menu. No one will interrupt you as you fondle one another underneath the linens.

  3. For the thrill seeker take a drive up (or down) George Washington Parkway to Gravelly Point Park. (Washingtonians just call it “Gravelly Point.”)

Lie back on the hood of your car and watch the planes fly overhead to land at Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport. Expect company, as it’s a popular summer hang-out. But when it’s dark, who cares?

  4. Tour-SaFleur-bishops garden
    Bishop’s Garden, Washington National Cathedral
For the romantic, visit Washington National Cathedral’s Bishop’s Garden.

Perhaps it’s not in the best taste to recommend a place of worship for making out, but its siren’s call cannot be denied. The cathedral is on busy Wisconsin Avenue, North of Georgetown. But this medieval, walled-in garden provides an oasis from the traffic and noise. A lovely gazebo and manicured flowers garden were meant for quiet contemplation. We can’t help it if more sinful thoughts arise, can we?

  5. For those seeking to relive their teen years “parking,” take a drive to Hains Point.

At the tip of the several-miles-long East Potomac Park peninsula lies the site of the Awakening, a famous 100 foot sculpture of a man pulling himself from the earth. It can be creepy – especially at night. Snuggle close to your loved one and stare out at the water, taking in the twinkling lights of the Washington marina on the other side of the Potomac. Or, let other ideas arise, like wouldn’t it be fun to go “parking” like teenagers?

  6. For the kinky, visit (or join) the The Crucible.
The Crucible, private BDSM social club

No list of best-places-to-get-lusty would be complete without naming D.C.’s most famous private social club that boasts a dungeon, activities and lots of kinky folk to hang out with. Note that membership is mandatory for most of what they offer, and must be obtained in advance of visiting. But you won’t find a more accepting crowd for BDSM activities than the fine folks at this long-standing club. (They are moving in March, so check their site for updates.)

What isn’t on the list that you think should be? One can never have too many make-out spots.

When the charismatic man proposes a summer of sensual, sexual submission, Christiana leaps into his world—the antidote to her bland life. But Washington, D.C. is an unforgiving place; soon gossip and scandal threatens their relationship.

About the Author:

Elizabeth SaFleur is an erotic romance author who is finally sharing what simmers in her imagination—lots of alpha males, seductive encounters, and love. For many years she lived and worked in her novels’ setting, Washington, D.C., in public relations. In her thirty-year career, she represented or encountered some of the city’s powerful insiders.

Elizabeth now writes, tweets and posts under her pseudonym, Elizabeth SaFleur, since her former clients might be a little shocked at their past PR counselor’s new career choice. Then again, perhaps they would fear they provided inspiration. (She has sworn secrecy.)

Her series, the Elite Doms of Washington, is contemporary erotic romance for the progressive woman—unafraid and unencumbered by society’s boundaries.

Lovely, the first novel in the series debuting in January 2015, was inspired one sunny day at an outside café in Washington Harbor where Elizabeth swore she witnessed a woman being lashed to a sailboat mast, happily. Lovely’s hero, Jonathan Brond, was born that day when he silently answered her unspoken question, “does she like that?” with yet another question: “Would you like to find out?”

Today Elizabeth shares twenty-eight, wildlife-filled acres in Central Virginia with her husband and dog, and is sometimes separated from her laptop to indulge in dance classes and visits to wineries and hiking trails with friends. She lives by one quote: “If you really want to be happy, nobody can stop you.”

Elizabeth is a member of the Romance Writers Association, the Washington Romance Writers, and avid reader of all fiction genres, but especially books with a happily-ever-after ending. Visit to drop her a note.
