Tuesday Jams [#20] – Verdi & Purcell

Tuesday-JamsSharonda from Brazen Babe Reviews came up with this “meme” called Tuesday Jams. Her idea is simple: share a song you’ve been loving like crazy lately.

The last few weeks I’ve been writing a new Randy’s Diner story featuring opera singers. That means loads of opera listening. Two pieces feature prominently in the story.

The first is this one by Verdi from Rigoletto, “Gualtier Maldé! Caro Nome”

And I’ve loved “When I am laid in earth” by Purcell (also called Dido’s Lament) since I heard it in a music appreciation class, and so I had to mention it in the book.

What’s your jam?
